I am very particular about knowing when my girls are nearing their labor. I always want to be there to help when each pup comes “into this world."

 

If I have to be away, I have cameras so I can monitor them and rush home. I check indicators and do a temperature chart on each one, and usually know within twelve ours when their puppies are due, so at that point I can make sure not to leave their side.

 

This can mean sitting with them all night, as they tend to whelp at night. But that is my job, to make them feel as safe and secure as possible.
